About the Hoshizora no Babylon English patch

It is the year 2068, and men have become extraordinarily rare. Galaxy Amanogawa is one of them, which makes him a prime target when the Cosmic Race, a species of humanoid monster girls pouring out of a wormhole, arrives looking for human males to reproduce with. Inexperienced as he is, Galaxy has to hold the line alongside the ship's captain and the rest of the crew.

Hoshizora no Babylon is a science-fiction comedy adventure from One-up, released in 2015. It is voiced, runs around 22 hours, and mixes a space-battle setting with monster-girl encounters; the gameplay segments can be skipped for those who only want the story.

This English patch is a complete translation: 26,636 script lines, 144 redrawn interface images (title and system menus, save/load screens, galleries, chapter and map screens, popups), the game's built-in prompts and quit dialog, and the opening text-crawl video re-rendered in English. It is installed with a patcher that backs up every file it changes.

How to install

1
Install the game normally, or make sure the game folder holds the full install.
- BABYLON.exe

Troubleshooting

"could not find the game folder"

Move the patcher next to BABYLON.exe, or drag the game folder onto the patcher.

"... does not match the release this patch was made for" or "... is N bytes, this patch expects M"

Your SCPACK.pak, EAGLS.INI or BABYLON.exe is from a different release or was changed by another patch. Restore the original files or reinstall, then try again. If you are certain your copy is fine, run the patcher from a command prompt with --force.

Text shows as boxes or is missing

The game needs a Japanese TrueType font (MS Gothic). It is always present on Windows; under Wine or Proton, install one into the prefix.

Uninstall: Delete script\SCPACK.idx, script\SCPACK.pak, CG\CGPACK.idx, EAGLS.INI and BABYLON.exe, then rename the .bak copies back to those names. CG\CGPACK.pak can stay as it is.
